Organometallic chemistry
The main objective of the work carried out in this area is the production of high-quality research, focusing on bonding features and structural aspects of organometallic compounds, as well as on the reactivity of these complexes in both stoichiometric and catalytic processes, and encompassing a wide variety of ligands and metals. In general, the background achieved provides the members of this research line with considerable versatility in the development of their research. As a primary goal, these characteristics (knowledge-driven research and versatility) are intended to be maintained in the forthcoming period.
On the other hand, the extension of research toward applicable findings is also strongly emphasized. Therefore, a substantial effort has been devoted to the development of useful catalysts, which constitutes an important part of the mission of this research line. In this regard, these efforts will be sustained in the future, and, additionally, an attempt will be made to diversify the range of applications of our research. This challenge will include the development of new synthetically useful homogeneous catalysts (including chiral ones), the heterogenization of organometallic complexes for the development of supported catalysts, and the discovery of compounds with therapeutic applications.
