The Equality Committee of the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ) – a joint centre run by the CSIC and the University of Seville, which has its own Equality Unit – works to promote a research and working environment based on equal opportunities, respect, inclusion and diversity. Our aim is to help build a scientific community that is more equitable, participatory and free from any form of discrimination.
This page brings information about our activities, resources and initiatives together. We also want it to serve as an open channel of communication with all the centre’s staff. To this end, an email address has been set up to receive proposals, suggestions and concerns.
Objectives of the committee
To promote equal opportunities for everyone at the IIQ.
To foster an inclusive, respectful and discrimination-free working and research environment.
To disseminate information, resources and best practice relating to equality, diversity and inclusion.
To promote awareness-raising, training and outreach activities.
To help identify potential areas for improvement and develop initiatives that contribute to well-being and a sense of community at the school.
To support the implementation of the equality policies and plans promoted by the CSIC and the institutions affiliated with the centre.

This section presents aggregated data on the composition of the IIQ community. The aim is to provide a transparent overview of the centre’s diversity and to facilitate the monitoring of indicators relating to equality, representation and participation.

The Equality Committee organises activities aimed at raising awareness, providing training, disseminating information and encouraging participation within the IIQ community. This section will bring together news, events, campaigns, conferences and resources relating to equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as the initiatives promoted by the committee itself.
Suggestion box
We want the Equality Committee to be an open and participatory forum. You can use this feedback box to send us, in confidence, any proposals, ideas, comments or concerns relating to equal opportunities, inclusion, work-life balance and the working environment at the IIQ.
The feedback received will be reviewed by the committee and will help us to identify needs and develop new initiatives to improve our working environment.
We have a physical suggestion box in the secretariat (where the lab coats are kept) and an online form to facilitate participation from the whole centre community.
