Biography
A. Méndez Ardoy obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Seville. She carried out postdoctoral research stays at the University of Twente under the supervision of Jurriaan Huskens and at the Institute des Sciences Moléculaires under the supervision of Dario Bassani. As part of a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, she joined the Centro Singular de Investigación en Química Biológica y Materiales Moleculares (CIQUS) under the supervision of Javier Montenegro. After being awarded a Ramón y Cajal Fellowship, she returned to the University of Seville–Institute of Chemical Research in the Department of Organic Chemistry. She has also completed short research stays at the University of Navarra, the University of Nice, and the University of Cambridge.
Research interests
His research career has focused on the Supramolecular Chemistry of carbohydrates and peptides, with applications in diverse areas such as the transport of pharmaceutically relevant molecules, supramolecular recognition at surfaces and electrodes, the development of photoresponsive recognition and self-assembly systems, and artificial cells.
