Biography

Salvador Conejero Iglesias obtained his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Oviedo and later joined the University of Rennes (France) under the Erasmus program, working in the laboratories of Prof. P. H. Dixneuf. He earned his Ph.D. cum laude at the University of Oviedo under the supervision of Prof. José Gimeno and Prof. Mª Pilar Gamasa. During his doctoral studies, he also worked at the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse (France) with Dr. Bruno Chaudret and Dr. Sylviane Sabo-Etienne. From 2002 to 2005, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Riverside (USA), under the supervision of Prof. Guy Bertrand. In 2005, he joined the Instituto de Investigaciones Químicas (IIQ), University of Seville, as a Ramón y Cajal fellow in the group of Prof. Ernesto Carmona, and in 2007 he was appointed Tenured Scientist. In 2023, he obtained the qualification for promotion to Research Scientist. He leads a research group within the CINQA network in Seville and serves as an expert evaluator for the Spanish National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP). His achievements have been recognized with the Doctorate Award (University of Oviedo, 2002), Young Researcher Award (Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, 2007), and Excellence in Research Award (GEQO-RSEQ, 2016).In addition to his research, he actively participates in scientific management as secretary of the SEV Territorial Section (since 2024), vice-director of the International School on Organometallic Chemistry – Marcial Moreno Mañas (since 2023), and chair of the XLII GEQO-RSEQ Congress (2024).
